National Accounts Manager, Books-A-Million

Position: Full-Time, Hybrid

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Retail Sales team at Hachette Book Group as a National Accounts Manager, selling adult titles to Books-A-Million. The role will report into the Executive Director of Chain Sales. 
  
This is a key role in the sales department and the ideal candidate will have the ability to work creatively and collaborative with buyers to drive sales across frontlist and backlist titles. We’re looking for someone who is customer-centric and has a track record in building strong relationships with accounts and with internal stakeholders, a strong communicator who enjoys analyzing the market for trends and sales opportunities. Strong presentation skills, commercial acumen and an eye for detail are also vital to this position.

  • Minimum 5 years of active selling experience in the publishing industry is required
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills needed with the ability to effectively communicate with varied personalities at the account as well as all levels of management
  • Ability to travel multiple times a year for in person sales meetings with the account
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage many projects simultaneously while attending to details and deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Edelweiss
  • Passionate, dedicated reader

The compensation range for this position is $70,000-$90,000. Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and location — talk with your recruiter to learn more. There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role or exceptional workload issues or special projects.
