Abrams seeks an enthusiastic, social media-savvy, creative individual with superior organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and a strong interest in digital marketing to join our collaborative, fun and fast-paced Digital Strategy & Consumer Engagement team!
The Digital Strategy & Consumer Engagement team is dedicated to setting the overall digital, social media, and brand/licensor marketing strategies across the Adult and Children’s lists at Abrams, focusing on both organic and paid consumer-facing initiatives and D2C efforts with a strong focus on conversion. Digital Strategy & Consumer Engagement works closely with the Integrated Marketing and School & Library Marketing teams as well as Publicity to ensure campaign promotions are coordinated, focused, and sales-driving.
As the Assistant Marketing Manager, Brand Partnerships & Consumer Engagement, you will have a direct hand in shaping innovative and sales-driving campaigns based in performance marketing tactics, while working with some of our biggest bestselling series, influential authors, and licensed properties across the Adult and Children’s lists at Abrams. The ideal candidate has the ability to think both creatively and analytically, has keen attention to detail, and a seasoned track record of determining ROI for campaigns to maximize book sales.
This position reports to the Senior Marketing Manager, Social Media & Consumer Engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop best practices, guidelines, and suggested social media content calendars for key authors during prepub, on-sale, and backlist moments connected to their books with a goal of creating engagement and driving sales; work directly with authors to achieve campaign plans and assess ROI of efforts
- Identify and implement additional opportunities within an author’s network, leveraging pre-existing partnerships and brand connections to further amplify campaign awareness
- Pinpoint and secure support from outside organizations to grow additional visibility for our titles and authors, drive conversion, and increase newsletter subscribers
- Collaborate with licensors, including Marvel, Disney, and Paramount, on cross-promotional social media and email marketing initiatives to broaden reach for D2C efforts and title-specific campaigns
- Work closely with the Sales team on account specific author requests for social media promotion
- Partner with the Integrated Marketing team on execution of brand and licensor promotions at a targeted list of consumer-facing festivals and cons
- Execute organic and paid partnerships with social media creators and influencers, particularly within the book, family, and lifestyle spaces
- Collaborate with the Senior Marketing Manager, Social Media & Consumer Engagement to integrate influencer and creator content into larger social calendar across the Adult and Children’s divisions (@AbramsBooks; @AbramsKids; @PiqueBeyond)
- Oversee the development and production of creative assets, including static imagery and dynamic video, where needed
- Analyze, review, and report on campaign performance, using metrics to inform future strategy decisions
- Represent campaigns, strategy, and other opportunities in meetings and updates to internal and external stakeholders, including editors, publishers, sales teams, agents, and authors
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in digital marketing and social media management, preferably within the publishing industry
- Comprehensive knowledge of social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, TikTok, and Pinterest
- Demonstrated track record of managing social media channels, responding to trends and engaging moments, and developing dynamic visual content
- Familiarity with paid social media campaigns and influencer partnerships
- Deep understanding of social media analytics, scheduling and listening tools, including Meta Business Suite; experience using Meltwater a plus
- Detail-oriented project manager with strong time management and organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Open-minded, proactive self-starter who can work well independently yet flourishes in a collaborative environment
- Easily builds and maintains relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and at different management levels
- Proficiency in Mac OS and MS Office Suite
- Knowledge of Google Analytics, Adobe Creative Suite and Canva, a plus
- Ability to travel to approximately 2-3 conferences per year to represent Abrams
