Senior Production Manager

Position: Full-Time, Hybrid
Position Overview:
Abrams is searching for a Senior Production Manager to focus on the production of graphic novels, manga, and high-end “art of comics” titles. Based on department needs, this may also include complex format children’s titles. Candidate must be energetic, detail-oriented, and a proactive problem solver who can handle various assignments.
Responsibilities
Handle all elements of production from files to finished product, including but are not limited to:
- Manage creation and processing of production-related purchase orders.
- Create, revise, and maintain production schedules and detailed project status.
- Data entry in title management system.
- Traffic deliverables between departments and outside vendors
- Manage co-editions, drop shipments and custom publishing as needed.
- Maintain positive relationships and clear communication with co-workers and vendors.
- Resolve or escalate queries throughout the production process, in consultation with the head of Production, Design and Editorial teams.
- Maintains all QC/compliance paperwork (safety testing, vendor approvals, NDA’s, licensor agreements, etc., as needed)
- Focuses on continuous improvement of workflow, internal communications, and overall processes.
- Ensures quality of product and schedule integrity in support of Abrams’ mission
Qualification
- Must have 8+ years of experience in publishing production with a thorough understanding of book making process.
- Experience working with inventory and operations.
- Experience working with both domestic and foreign suppliers.
- Must be organized, detail oriented, have a flexible mind set, and be able to multi-task
- Strong knowledge of Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Knowledge of safety testing for children’s books is a plus

Salary
$70,000 - $80,000
This role is based in New York, NY, with a hybrid work schedule requiring 3 days in the office per week.
