A longlist has been released for the £1,000 (about $1,270) McIlvanney Prize for Scottish Crime Book of the Year. Finalists will be revealed in early September, and the winner named September 20 at the opening reception of the Bloody Scotland International Crime Writing Festival in Stirling.
